Where Energy, Identity & Reality Meet
The word metaphysics can sound woo-woo and complicated…
Or, depending on which corner of the internet you landed on, it can sound like crystals, manifestation, astrology, energy work, intuition and asking the Universe for a sign before making a decision.
But metaphysics is much deeper than any one spiritual practice.
At its roots, metaphysics explores some of the biggest questions we can ask:
What is reality?
What does it mean to exist?
What is consciousness?
Who are we beyond what we can physically see?
How are the mind, identity, energy and physical experience connected?
And this is where metaphysics becomes much more practical than people sometimes realize.
You Don’t Have to Be Religious, Spiritual or Intuitive to Explore Metaphysics— But It Helps
Metaphysics doesn’t require you to follow a particular religion, spiritual tradition or belief system.
And you don’t have to consider yourself spiritual or intuitive to understand, explore or apply metaphysical ideas.
You can be religious and interested in metaphysics.
You can be spiritual but not religious.
You can believe in God, the Universe, Source, consciousness or energy.
You can also be skeptical, analytical, philosophical or simply curious about questions we don’t have perfect answers to.
You don’t need to meditate, read energy, receive intuitive messages or have profound spiritual experiences to explore metaphysics. It helps, but it is not always required.
At its foundation, metaphysics asks questions about existence, reality, consciousness, identity and what may exist beyond what we can immediately observe with our physical senses.
For some people, metaphysical exploration complements their existing faith.
For others, it becomes a way of understanding themselves, questioning assumptions or exploring consciousness and the nature of reality.
You don’t have to change what you believe or adopt a new identity to participate.
You just have to be willing to get curious.
So, What Does Metaphysics Have to Do With Physics?
The connection is hiding right in the word.
Physics explores the physical world: matter, energy, motion, space, time and the laws that describe how the universe behaves.
Metaphysics traditionally asks questions that go beyond, or sit underneath, what physics alone can answer.
What is reality?
What does it mean for something to exist?
What is consciousness?
What is the nature of time, identity, cause and possibility?
Physics and metaphysics can sometimes explore questions about the same territory, but they approach those questions differently.
Physics might ask:
How does the universe behave?
Metaphysics might ask:
What is the nature of the universe and reality in the first place?
And this distinction matters.
Modern physics has uncovered a universe far stranger and more complex than everyday experience might suggest, but that doesn’t mean quantum physics automatically proves manifestation, intuition, energy healing or other spiritual ideas.
Metaphysics gives us a framework for exploring some of the questions that aren’t always measurable in a laboratory.
And you don’t need to be a physicist, philosopher, psychic or spiritual person to ask them.
Metaphysics Looks Beyond the Physical
Most of us are taught to understand life through what we can see and touch.
The job.
The relationship.
The money in the bank.
The body.
The business.
The habits.
The results.
Metaphysics invites us to look underneath those things too.
What beliefs are influencing your choices?
What identity are you operating from?
What patterns keep repeating? What keeps happening?
What does your intuition keep showing you that your logical mind keeps negotiating with?
What changes when your internal world changes?
This doesn’t mean every physical experience is magically created by your thoughts or that difficult circumstances can be solved by simply “raising your vibration.”
That kind of thinking can become spiritual bypassing very quickly.
Instead, I see metaphysics as an invitation to explore the layers of our experience that aren’t always immediately visible.
Energy Is Part of the Conversation, Not the Entire Conversation
If you’ve been in my world for a while, you already know that I talk about energy.
A lot.
But energy without action can become another hiding place.
You can clear energy, journal, do yoga, meditate, visualize, pull cards, receive Reiki and ask for signs all day long.
At some point, something in the physical world usually has to move too.
A boundary has to be communicated.
A habit has to change.
A decision has to be made.
An application has to be submitted.
The offer has to be posted.
The uncomfortable conversation has to happen.
Metaphysical work becomes powerful when your inner awareness begins influencing your outer choices.
Your Inner World Leaves Clues
Have you ever said you wanted something while repeatedly doing the opposite?
Maybe you want more money, but visibility makes you uncomfortable.
You want a healthier relationship, but you’re terrified of disappointing people.
You want peace, but you’ve become accustomed to chaos.
You want change, but part of your identity still feels safer being the person you have always been.
This is why I believe shadow work belongs in conversations about metaphysics.
We aren’t only working with what we consciously believe.
We’re also working with conditioning, subconscious patterns, emotional associations, identity, fear, intuition and the stories we’ve collected about what is safe or possible for us.
Sometimes the biggest shift isn’t learning something new.
It’s finally seeing what has been quietly running in the background.
Intuition Is Not the Same as Impulsivity
Metaphysical work can also ask us to become more curious about our intuition.
That doesn’t mean treating every thought, feeling or coincidence as divine instruction.
Discernment matters.
Fear can be loud.
Conditioning can be convincing.
Wishful thinking can dress itself beautifully.
Developing intuition involves becoming quiet enough to recognize what feels genuinely aligned, what we’ve absorbed from other people and what might be coming from an old pattern.
The goal isn’t to outsource your decisions to signs or license plate numbers.
It’s to know yourself deeply enough that signs can become information, not instructions.
Metaphysics Should Bring You Back to Your Life
For me, metaphysics isn’t about escaping reality.
It’s about understanding ourselves more deeply within it.
This is how I stay optimistic even when reality looks grim.
When we are connected with ourselves and our higher inner power extraordinary things can take place.
Your spiritual practices should eventually meet your calendar.
Your intuition should eventually meet your decisions.
Your healing should eventually meet your boundaries.
Your relationship with abundance should eventually meet how you earn, spend, receive and manage money.
Your vision should eventually meet action.
That intersection is where things get interesting.
Because Health, Wealth and Success aren’t isolated parts of our lives.
Neither are our beliefs, bodies, relationships, businesses, identities or energy.
They influence one another.
And sometimes the physical result we’re desperately trying to change is the first visible clue that something deeper deserves our attention.
Your Metaphysical Check-In
Here’s something you can take with you today.
Choose one area of your life you’ve been wanting to change, understand more deeply or simply pay more attention to.
Not sure where to start?:
Health — energy, routines, movement, nourishment or self-care
Wealth — money habits, earning, receiving, spending or financial goals
Career — work, purpose, growth or a change you’ve been considering
Business — visibility, sales, consistency, creativity or your next move
Relationships — romantic relationships, friendships, family or recurring dynamics
Boundaries — where you’re overgiving, people-pleasing or abandoning your own needs
Identity — who youve been, who you’re becoming and what no longer fits
Confidence & self-worth — where you’re shrinking, doubting yourself or waiting for permission
Home & environment — what your physical space may be reflecting or reinforcing
Spirituality or intuition — your connection to yourself, your beliefs or your inner knowing
Creativity — something you want to make, express, write or finally put into the world
Time & priorities — where your time is actually going versus what you say matters to you
You don’t have to choose the “biggest” problem in your life.
Choose the area that’s asking for your attention right now.
Then ask yourself:
1. What is happening physically?
What can I objectively see happening in my life right now?
Try separating what you know from what you’re assuming, predicting or interpreting.
2. What is happening internally?
What beliefs, emotions, fears or patterns might be influencing how I’m responding?
What story am I telling myself about what is happening?
3. What does my intuition say?
Before overthinking it, what do I already know?
And if you don’t consider yourself intuitive, try asking:
What am I noticing that I haven’t fully acknowledged yet?
4. What action would align with what I’m discovering?
What is one small, practical thing I can actually do?
Not someday.
Not when everything feels perfectly aligned.
What can you do from where you are now?

Come back to them when you’re feeling stuck, entering a new season or noticing an old pattern resurfacing.
Your answers may change as you do.
So, What Is Metaphysics?
Metaphysics is the exploration of reality beyond only what we can physically observe.
In my work, that exploration includes consciousness, intuition, energy, identity, shadow work and the relationship between our inner and outer worlds.
Not because we should ignore practical reality.
Quite the opposite.
The deeper we understand ourselves, the more intentionally we can participate in what comes next.
You don’t have to believe every spiritual theory.
You don’t have to label every experience.
You don’t have to consider yourself spiritual or intuitive.
And you definitely don’t need to hand your power over to a guru, a sign, a reading or the Universe.
Stay curious.
Notice your patterns.
Listen inward.
Question what you’ve inherited.
Pay attention to what your life is showing you.
And then bring what you discover back into your actual life.
Because awareness can open the door.
But eventually, you still have to walk through it.
Want to Go Deeper?
If these are the kinds of conversations you want more of, I have been building two spaces where we take them beyond this blog.
The Unbecoming Circle explores the inner work: identity, intuition, shadow work, healing, self-awareness and becoming more of who you actually are underneath everything you’ve learned to perform.
The Energypreneur brings that inner work into business: energy, money, visibility, success, identity, intuition and the practical actions required to build something in the physical world.
Different spaces. Same underlying philosophy:
Your inner world and outer world aren’t separate conversations.
Explore both communities and choose the space that meets you where you are right now.
Come Along for the Journey
I’m also finding my way back into my own flow.
I am always working on my own healing journey.
I’m creating again, reconnecting with the parts of myself and my work that matter to me, and continuing to navigate my own healing and evolution along the way.
Healing Sabbatical
Over the past year I reluctantly took a break from my business to focus on my own health, wealth and success.
I’m not interested in showing up online pretending that growth is perfectly linear or that we have to reach some “healed” image or destination before we’re allowed to create, teach, share or begin again.
Frankly— Thats not how it works.
My health crashing last year was a wake-up call.
A LOUD wake-up call I could no longer ignore.
My health crashing forced me to review even the things I thought I had already worked on years ago.
I am human, and if you are reading this— you too are human.
So if you’re navigating your own season of becoming, unbecoming, rebuilding or simply figuring out what comes next, join me on social media and within my Skools.
And come back to the blog whenever you need another question to sit with, an idea to explore or a reminder to look beneath what’s happening on the surface.
Stay curious.
Your life has more to teach you than you think.
With Love,
Tabby xx
